Jess is a highly experienced power skating coach, with extensive training in physical education and kinesiology. She loves helping skaters reach their maximum potential both on and off-ice. Jess is also a Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor, Flexibility Coach, and a Director to many various on ice programs.

  • What are Swinton Power’s business hours?

    Jess is available for on ice instruction upon request 7 days a week!

  • When are office hours?

    Office hours can vary. However you can expect to receive a response from us within 48 -72 hours.

  • What areas will you work?

    Jess travels around the entire Detroit metro to provide power skating. Out of state and international sessions can be arranged upon request.

  • What type of payment does Swinton Power accept?

    We can accept various types of payment including Venmo, Business Paypal, Chase Quickpay, or Checks written out to Swinton Power, LLC.  Same day session cash payments can be accepted under some circumstances depending on the type of training (please contact us).

  • What Gear is Required for Swinton Power Sessions?

    Swinton Power requires full equipment to participate in any form of on-ice hockey training that Jess instructs on.  Water bottle is suggested. Jess requests hockey players bring their hockey stick to all sessions as well.   For Figure Skating Power Instruction, Jess requests safe, form fitting skating apparel. Water bottle is suggested. 

  • I heard Swinton Power sessions are challenging! How should I best prepare my athlete for a session with Jess?

    Jess always requests appropriate hydration of athletes beginning the day before a session. Jess discourages power skating on an empty stomach as it can lead to lack of energy to safely execute power skating drills. 

    Warming up off ice for 5 to 10 minutes with simple exercises such as jumping rope, jumping jacks, and light dynamic stretching are encouraged. 


  • Does Jess travel throughout the United States as well as abroad for Power Skating?

    Yes! Please contact scheduletoskate@gmail.com with your full request for Swinton Power training outside of the Metro Detroit Area and our administrative assistant will communicate with you regarding your request!
